Greetings!
Welcome to Gloria Patri. We are a mature, alternate universe, historical RPG that is set in 1492 Rome, Italy. The Borgia Pope now sits in the chair of Saint Peters and rules the country with a proclaimed divine right and an iron fist.

Behind the curtains his children plot and scheme to secure their hold of power. They seek to carve out an empire on the Borgia name. Lies, treachery, murder and lust drive the forces of the Papal States and blood shall run through the streets of Rome.

Only one question remains; how will your story change the fate of history?

The following is a list of the social classes that are offered here for Gloria Patri. Your character will fit in to one of these following classes and should act accordingly when being role played. For example: If your character is a homeless commoner you may not play them being wealthy and running around the streets of Rome buying horses and jewelry. So, please read through this list and figure out where your character fits in best and allow yourself to understand that specific social class.

Upper Clergy
Consisted of
Cardinals
Archbishops
Bishops
A Cardinals of the Holy Mother Church are also known as "Princes of the Church", and most behaved as such. They were often very wealthy and owned many lavish palaces with marble floors and gold trimmed rooms. Archbishops and Bishops were not as wealthy as Cardinals, but did have one or two palaces of their own and money to burn. The amount of money all received was determined by seeking favor of the Pope. The more beneficial you were to the Pope, the more money you received.

Royalty
Consisted of
Imperator (Emperor):
Imperatrice (Empress):
Re (King):
Regina (Queen):
Principe (Prince):
Principessa (Princess):
These are members of the Royal family. They often have wealth beyond measure, some even have more money than the Pope. Most command their own large army and have many palaces and estates. They rule and own their own country, in the case of the King of France, a section of Italy such as the King of Naples, or several countries such as the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.

Upper Nobility
Consisted of
Duca (Duke):
Duchessa (Duchess):
Marchese (Marquis):
Marchesa (Marchioness):
These are the wealthiest of the Nobility. Most have Royal blood somewhere down the line or are bastard children of a member of the Royal Family. They own palaces and have never have a shortage of money. Many young sons command their own army and/or are swords for hire.

Middle Nobility
Consisted of
Conte (Count)
Contessa (Countess)
Visconte (Viscount)
Viscontessa (Viscountess)
These were the members of the Middle Nobility. They were very wealthy and had a small trace of ancient Royalty somewhere further down the line. They often rules large sections of countries, The Countess of Forli for example. They have large castles and estates scattered across the country and owned large sections of land. Many also commanded their own armies.

Lower Nobility
Consisted of
Barone (Baron)
Baronessa (Baroness)
The members of this social class were on the lower end of the class of Nobility. Many owned sections of land and livestock which was worked by serfs and peasants. The crops were their main source of income. But don't let this fool you, many still had plenty of money and had several estates. Many of these titles were given by the Pope, King, or Emperor of their region as a favor for loyal service.

Middle Class (Bourgeoisie)
Consisted of
Wealthy Merchants
Doctors
Lawyers
Master-Craftsmen (IE: Leather worker, Blacksmith ect)
Assassins
Condottieri
Artists/Musicians/Acrots
Banker
Jeweller
ECT...
Members of this social class were often wealthy workers who managed to scrap a good living through goods and trade. They are not as wealthy as members of Nobility and usually only owned one estate or nice house and lived very comfortably.

Lower Class
Consisted of
Bakers
Courtesans
Merchants
Assassins
Stable hands
Livery Worker
Butcher
Tavern Owner
ECT...
These people were the most common of folk. They clung to every copper and silver piece. They often live hand to mouth and struggle to get by. But, they are lucky enough to live in a house instead of out on the streets and have a respectable occupation.

Poverty
Consisted of

ECT...
This is the largest class in Italy, or any country. Most were often homeless and plowed their trades on the streets or pick-pocketed for the smallest amount of coin. Some were lucky to have a small hut, but most shared the streets with the rats and birds, living in filth and clinging to starving bellies.
