Quiet steps pattered against the marble flooring as the blonde maiden made her way through the Vatican. Clusters of red robed men passed her, some carried arms full of papers and other important documents that were needing to be signed by the Pope, others looked up from their mundane conversations amongst themselves to stare at the young woman. Lucrezia could feel their gaze burning through her, but refused to let them see that it bothered her. Instead, she held her head up high, as if turning her nose up at them and their hypocrisy. Yes, she was the bastard offspring of the new Pope, but most of these Cardinals all had illegitimate children of their own, and almost all kept mistresses, some more than one. Why was it such a sin for her father to be any different?

The young girl kept her eyes forward, refusing to even pretend to acknowledge anyone as she made her way to her Father's private offices. Once inside frail hands closed the door behind her before continuing further inside. There were no sounds of voices nor even movement from within. "Father? Cesare...?" She called out in her fragile voice but no response came. It was apparent that she was the first one here. Her father had called on she and all her siblings so that they may prepare for the upcoming Coronation that now mere days away. It was also obvious that he wanting to speak with them on the changes that had enveloped their world. Everything was different now, and with his rise in the Papacy there were certain obligations that they all needed to observe, and certain things that would be expected of them as they were now all in the public eye. Her father's throne sat on shaky grounds and even the smallest hint of scandal could bring everything crashing down around them.

Surly this lecture applied to her brother Juan more than herself as he was usually the one stumbling out of brothels and starting drunken fights with members of Nobility, but Father would never confront his prodigal child outright. Hazel gaze rolled in her head as she pondered on this thought, oh how it bothered her that Juan could cause all sorts of trouble but yet father would still welcome him with a smile and open arms, yet she or Cesare could do the smallest thing and they would be thrown to the wolves. It was maddening!

But so many things had changed just in the few short days since her father was elected Pope. The most major change was that their lives were all in very real danger. With great power comes great enemies for anyone, and since her father was not an adored Pope they were vulnerable. Many threats had already been made upon her and the lives of her family, but her eldest brother Cesare had seen fit to up the guard around the palace and family. The safety of his family was all that seemed to matter to Cesare and for that Lucrezia was grateful.

Lucrezia wondered around the office aimlessly as she awaited the arrival of her siblings and father. She gazed upon the paintings on the wall, some were of Biblical scenes of times long past, Jesus washing the feet of commoners, Him laying his holy hand on a boy to command him to walk. The last was that of the most holy day that the Son returned to Haven after spending three days in a tomb of death. Along the other wall were paintings of all of the Popes that had come before, but a space was empty where her father's would soon be placed.

In the middle of the office, was a large desk furnished from the finest wood. Atop were stacks of documents along with ink, quills, and wax to stamp letters with the Papal Seal. Lucrezia resisted the urge for prying eyes to look upon such important documents, but her efforts were in vain. Thin fingers traced the top of the parchments, eyes skimming script casually. She thumbed through a few of them cautiously, hoping that her father would not wonder in and catch her, or worse, a Cardinal. As she scanned the papers she noticed the Borgia name, but it was not her father's that was before it, instead it was her brother Gioffre's. Her brow furrowed in curiosity so she pulled this particular document out to further investigate. Eyes grew large as she read that it was possible negotiations for marriage to a Bavarian Princess for Gioffre. Land, and large sums of money were promised as a dowry for her betrothal. A look of shock turned to a stare of jealousy as she vigorously thumbed through the rest of the documents, eagerly searching for her name on a similar form, but nothing. She scoffed and her lip narrowed, why was Gioffre to be married before her? He was far too young and she was almost of the right age! Was there possibly something wrong with her? Had she had some sort of defect that her father did not want to reveal to the world? Or perhaps he had sent out proposals of marriage to many men and all had seen fit to turn her down? Could there be something wrong with her?

TELL ME THAT I'M WRONG BUT I DO WHAT I PLEASE
Cesare had a lot of things going on as of late that he was recently burdened with. There was a lot going on and honestly he was still not fully prepared for becoming a cardinal. Becoming, being it was a blur really and honestly he hated the robes. Cesare knew if he protested too much right now from the start after giving his word to his father.. he couldn't let him down or be untrue to his word so soon into his Cardinalship. Today he was doing several different things and asked to meet with his father and his siblings to talk about the Papal Ball and all the changes.

Cesare had met with Micheletto and had sent him to do as well any good spy would do. Cesare was coming to trust him to a degree and honestly there had already been a few times where his spy had become his protector and Cesare was grateful to have him in his employ. sadly though he could not have him along today. No he must deal with his family all on his own. not that he minded most of his family, it was just Juan that gave him the most trouble, yet Father always forgave his brother no matter how big the scandal. One day one day Cesare would truly become the favored son and not just the dutiful one that was a pawn in the games their father played.

Cesare moved through the halls, he had undressed from his robes for the day and was in his typical black. he made his way into the private chambers of his father the Pope. He used routes most wouldn't then again he was far more sneaky than most gave him credit for. Cesare opened the door softly and then smiled seeing his sister. "It's impolite to spy you know." He said grinning a bit at her. Cesare couldn't help it he had to tease his sister. He could care less what others thought, besides they were safely alone for now anyhow. Not to mention the rumors were far from true. though Cesare knew he would do anything to keep his sister with him at all costs, between her and their mother he valued and protected them both above all.

Dragging steps covered the distance to his father's private offices. Geo wasn't so particular about taking part in this meeting but men did, correct? To be seen as a man, one must do as a man. And that meant doing things one might as well otherwise preferred not to do. So with that thought in mind, the dragging steps changed to those of a stride. Geo wasn't so young that he was oblivious to what people said about the family or how they were looked upon. He knew and heard, and responded whenever he saw fit to any injustice.

Coming upon the entry way to his father's office, he could hear talking already. A grin curled his lips. As long as neither was father's, he knew he wasn't the last to arrive. He entered, big grin in place."Cesare, Lucrezia"he greeted. But then his gaze fell upon the papers in his sister's hands and a brow cocked. Geo never liked to be kept in the dark about anything so his instincts urged him into his next moves."Dear sister, what have you got there?"he asked, coming upon her quick.

His hand outstretched for the papers to take them. If he had to be present, he at least wanted to have a bit of fun in the process.

The sound of soft leather managed to go unnoticed as Lucrezia further examined the documents on her younger brother's proposal for marriage. It was impossible for the intruder to be her father for he would have burst in with gusto, commanding the attention from all in the room. This trait had served him well though, the ability to demand attention from all, further giving power to his words and presence, but he was unable to master the art of sneaking.

It wasn't till the steps were nearly upon her that Lucrezia realized that she was no longer alone. Her heart seemingly stopped beating and she quickly shuffled the marriage documents back among the pile of other parchment and quickly turned around in an attempt to appear innocent. But, as she turned she did not find the prying eyes of her father, nor any member of the Curia or guard, but rather the dark and enchanting stare of her dear brother Cesare. A huge sigh of relief was emitted from her parted lips and her once stilled heart now managed to beat again, though it fluttered a few times before returning to its usual tempo. "Must you always cause such a fight?" She questioned sternly, her brow low and firm, her anger still holding sway over the injustice of her kid-brothers marriage documents and not her own. Suddenly, she realized it was not Cesare she was enraged with, but rather her father, and all possible suitors of Europe who had not rush for her hand, after all she was the most powerful girl in Europe, surly she should now be the most sought after right?

Stormy eyes rolled away his comment before shifting around the room once again to ensure that her father nor anyone else was in ear-shot before turning around and fingering through the papers and once again finding the proposal. Her rage once again swelled as she aggressively turned with it in hand. "Did you have knowledge of this?" Her words were sharp, as if hurt by the notion that Cesare may have known of this proposal and had hid it from her, there had never been secrets between them before and there better not be any now. "Its a marriage proposal for young Gioffre! He's still a boy! How could father expect him to marry at such a young age? I'm the proper age, why is there no such contracts for me?" Speak the words aloud fuelled her anger, but a twinge of pain began to swell in her chest. "Does father deem me unworthy to wed? Or worse, has he sent out offers and all have seen fit to turn me down?" A raw sense of emotion came forth in the comfort of confiding to her brother, but she made attempts to choke back tears as greying eyes shift beyond Cesare's shoulder and landed on a wide-eyed Gioffre.

The boy's hair was a usual mess of curls, it appeared that mother had given up trying to tame them as they covered his prying eyes. He walked up and stretched out his hand to her, demanding to see what she was so obviously worked up over. A clever Lucrezia put the papers behind her back to hid the script from his wondering gaze and made attempts to shuffle them back among the pile. "It's nothing, just some paperwork about Juan's promotion to Capitan of the guard." She replied, her voice cool and calm to add a believable truth to her words and prayed that Cesare would go along with her ruse.

Lucrezia & Gioffre | 400 ish | OUTFIT | Family

Cesare couldn't help but smirk at his dear sister's words. Sometimes he almost forgot about all the troubles and things he had to deal with when he saw his sister. There were other times where she was just too inquisitive for her own good as well. "Well hard not to when you are being so sneaky in taking peeks at things you shouldn't be. You have a bad habit of spying, anyone ever tell you its not good to spy?" He was smirking though, They were Borgias they all spied from time to time and well it was expected of them half the time. His sister had learned from the best it seemed, meaning their mother.

Cesare frowned as Lucrezia began to ask questions then ramble a bit on how Gioffre was too young to marry and that she should have marriage proposals. "Relax dear sister. father has things in line for all of us. well all but me." Cesare said his voice raw and slightly tinged with anger. "Besides I am sure you would rather lay eyes upon your suitors. I am certain father will not let Our baby brother marry before you." Cesare knew about their Father's plans to marry them all off, He had already in a way settled to marry Cesare to the church.

Gioffre joined them then and Lucrezia didn't tell Gioffre about the papers, least not what they really were about. Cesare moved and grabbed the papers from his sister's hand and kept them well out of reach of his brother's prying hands. "These are going back where they belong and neither of you are laying your hands on them." Cesare gave them both stern looks. "It is impolite to spy on important papers and our Father, imagine if he had caught you." Cesare was in a way trying to scare them a bit. He was the eldest and he normally got his point across to his siblings, well all but to Juan. There were other issues at work there though. "Father asked us here to talk about the upcoming ball, not to spy on matters of the church."

The thirteen year old's brow cocked as he watched his sister attempt to shield the papers from his view before trying to shuffle them back together. A disgruntled look settled upon his face. They were being secretive again. "Lies"He stated then."I bet it isn't remotely about Juan. Why shield papers away that have to do with him?." As if either of them had more of a right to look upon important documents. He crossed his arms, looking between her and Cesare.

his brother moved then and picked up the papers in his own grasp before sternly addressing he and Lucrezia about such a thing as privacy. Well he hadn't actually looked at it, that had been Lucrezia. He just nodded at his brother's words though the small pout on lips remained. Though he did say to his sister."Hear that Lucrezia. Impolite." He smirked then.

That smirk soon fell away to another pout. With reason too as he learned of why they were being summoned to father's office. Of course the ball. He didn't really want to attend. He'd much rather be having sword play. But he'd attend because it was expected of all of them. he'd probably be the only one there his age. He sighed heavily, looked towards the door and back to them."What are the chances Juan makes it here before Father?." Not that he cared because he didn't get on with his other brother quite so well, but if they had to be there, he needed to show his face too.

A rolling of hazed eyes followed Cesare's comment, it was obvious that these words were meant to simply pacify her for if they bared any truth there would be document proof. Letters, pamphlets, anything demonstrating that their father was at least making attempts to find a suitable spouse. What was so bothersome was that she truly longed to marry, to find someone to come home to her, to kiss at their fireside, and a man to... to make her a woman. There was a piercing flame in her loins that was unable to be extinguished, despite her many efforts to do so herself. She knew it was sinful to dabble in self-pleasuring, but it was the only means to subdue her...need. If she didn't do it there were days she felt as if she might explode from all the tension!

Lucrezia had always heard the whispers that doing it alone was never the same, that nothing could ever mimic the feeling of a man's hands searching your body for the first time, exploring, searching, as if like a pirate needing to find his buried treasure. Then, their was the sweet twinge of pain, the feeling that happened during the first insertion. There were always mixed reviews on this part. Some women said it was very painful, as if their hips were going to dislocate, others said it was almost pleasurable. Lucrezia wanted to discover the truth for herself! How much longer was she expected to cling to this innocence before her needs and curiosity got the better of her? It was a double edged sword, so strong was the pull to find out, to experience true erotic lust, but the knowledge that she would never find a suitable husband if she was deflowered always kept her in check, for now.

Several scoffs erupted from pale lips as Cesare and Gioffre bickered amongst themselves, Cesare's words of warning went unnoticed intentionally as tiny fingers curled into her palm. She groaned out and turned away from the pair and took a few steps away, arms crossed over her chest as her brothers chose to dispute the matter further. The matter of what was on the papers was trivial now, she knew the truth and weather or not Gioffre knew was no longer a concern to her. No, now she brooded in her own anger, the knowledge that her younger brother would marry first truly bothered her. He was still a boy?! He still revelled in fighting with wooden swords, chasing toads and playing in the dirt, it wouldn't reach his sexual maturity for several more years now. And yet here she stood, in her sexual prime and ready to know, ready to bare children! It was so unfair!

Attention perked as Juan was brought up in their conversation. Their fourth sibling had yet to arrive. Lucrezia glanced over her shoulder, but maintained her posture. "Ill be shocked if he shows up at all." She growled with another roll of her eyes.

Lucrezia & Gioffre | 400 ish | OUTFIT | Family

Cesare rolled his eyes sometimes it was hard being the elder sibling, but he was amused often by the small little childishness of his sister and youngest brother. Cesare chuckled a bit as Gioffre teased and scolded Lucrezia. Cesare watched his dear dear sister pout. He sighed and then had to smile a bit. "Dear sister, it is unbecoming for a woman such as you to pout." Cesare said hated to see her pouting. He was more concerned about her being happy than he was unhappy. He vowed always to keep her safe. Things were changing for all of them. Cesare knew for a fact she was to be married. She was a true gem and a prize but their family name... it complicated things for many and their father had to be truly careful in the choosing of a husband for Lucrezia.

Cesare frowned a bit at the mention if Juan. "We all know Juan and how he can be, I am certain he will make some sort of ridiculous grand entrance, whether it be before or after Father." It was no secret that Juan and Cesare were at odds more than they were on the same side of things. So far it had not come to blows between them, but there was Cesare's jealousy over Juan being leader of the Papal armies and Cesare was forced to be a Cardinal. Cesare was not in a grand mood about that either these days. Only brightside to this entire thing was that he had found a friend and someone that for now was a darn good spy. Cesare had seen him in action. Micheletto was good in what he did, The first time Cesare had seen him in action, well he had been shocked but at the same time he had found himself awed by his skills.

Cesare looked between his brother and sister and sighed again. "the ball will be a grand one, and we all must be on our best behavior." Cesare smiled to his sister. "There shall be many eligible suitors I am almost certain for you dear sister attending. If I am wrong, well I shall be your dance partner all night long."

It was clear to even Gio that Juan was the odd man out. Well as far as any of them getting along with him. He wished things were different. That they all got on really well but that was even hard for him to do when Juan tended to tease harsher than some of the boys his own age. And truthfully it was hard to get on Gio's bad side without having a real cause to be as the boy got on with most people he met.

He rolled his eyes about the whole suitor thing. Why should Lucrezia be such in a hurry to marry? Why not enjoy life as it was? Maybe it was age and he didn't understand such things yet but he liked having a care free life, with the occasional sword fight. Course he would attend the ball but he definitely won't be looking for suitors. Maybe he'd bring a friend, perhaps a toad or something. He had to have his own amusement while those older than he mingled and talked about things far over his head or danced together.

He moved, walking around his father's desk and sitting in the chair."You two are going on about suitors. I don't even want to go to the ball"He muttered."But I will though I know it is to be a boring affair." What could he do anyway? He was too young to be of any civil importance to anyone particularly. If anyone dare to make him dance with some girl years older than he, he would but he wouldn't enjoy it.

Lucrezia Borgia
May They Realize Why We Don't Trust Them
Once again the young Borgia woman drowned out the sound of the monotone speech of her brothers, now thinking it was curious that her father was so late. It was unlike him to miss his own meeting that he himself called to order. A brow furrowed as she quietly passed her brothers, Gio and her glancing at one another as he made his way to sit in father plush office seat. Lucrezia started for the door and was about to peek out when she suddenly heard two male voices just down the hall. They spoke in hushed tones and she could only make out a few words here and there, and failed to recognize either voice, knowing for certain that neither were that of her father or brother Juan.

"So it is finished then?" Questioned one. It was average in pitch, having enough to know it was masculine but lacked the hearty volume. Instead, it was gruff and stale sounding, shaky as if one who had been robbed of his youth and the bass of the voice that went along with it.

"Yes your Grace, just as you asked. By now the whore mistress has been disposed of and the others will soon follow." This voice was much more firm, strong and far deeper. It held such a confidence that it was obviously a man in the prime of his years.

Hazel eyes grew large and she gasped slightly before covering her mouth with her fingertips. Wide eyes looked back over her shoulders at her bickering brothers. She shushed them as quietly as possible and waved them over in a rushed manner, but urging them to be silent as they did. "Cesare listen to this." She insisted as she pointed down the hall.

The pair of voices continued their plotting and confirmation. "Surly he will be to distraught to carry on his duties and will be unable to carry out his responsibilities. He will have to step down and clean up the mess." Explained the more feeble voice, a sense of glee dripping from his words.

The stronger voice finished his through. "Yes, and he will have no one to blame but himself for their demise."

The sound of several voice started up the hall and the pair of men quickly ended their scheming as the crowed approached them. Lucrezia took this moment of distraction and quickly glanced out the door to lay eyes on the men behind the voices. From the brief glance she noticed the brightly colored uniform of the Swiss Guard being worn by a tall gentlemen with a thick and dark beard. This was obviously the younger voice she heard. The other was an old man, hunched in the back but drapped in the Cardinal red. He had his back to her, thus Lucrezia was unable to get a good look to try and determine who it was. Once back behind the door frame Lucrezia slowly and quietly closed the door of the Pope's Office. She leaned against it , short of breath. "You don't think they were talking about us do you? Mother?" She asked in an exasperated tone as her eyes shifted between Gioffre and Cesare.

Lucrezia & Gioffre | 400 ish | OUTFIT | Family

Cesare sometimes worried about his younger siblings. One so desperate to find love and know what it meant to be a full woman the other just wanting to be a child still and not liking that he had to act far more grown up now that Father was Pope. Cesare chuckled. "That makes two of us not wanting to attend Gio." He moved and ruffled his brother's hair then he stood alone to the side a moment. he then saw his sister at the door and he eyed her a moment or two. Lucrezia was so curious, it was rather cute really. He then had to wonder what was keeping their Father and Juan. this was unusual, especially for Father.

When Lucrezia called him over to her and asked him to listen he frowned and crossed the room very quickly but pretty quietly as well. He listened and he looked at his siblings with worry. He recognized one of those voices but without putting name to face and face to the voice there wasn't much he could do about proof. There was no doubt what was planned and what was about to go down. Cesare looked out the door but just barely. He frowned he still didn't get a good look at who was talking. Sure the voice sounded familiar but well no proof without seeing a face. Cesare knew he could threaten and what not in private but not in public with the hunch he had. Course he had to make a move and quickly.

Course first he had to answer and ease his sister's mind. Though that was not going to be easy. "There is no doubt they were talking about us and mother." Cesare moved to a side door and then gave a low whistle. He knew Micheletto was never far from his side. even within the walls of the Vatican. Cesare turned to his siblings. "You two shall remain safe here, but if you truly wish I can find you an even safer place. Juan would not go down without a fight that was for sure. Cesare knew many of the guards in the palace would protect him and his siblings without a second thought. But Cesare had to get to the villa and to their mother. Course as he waited and there was no sign of his friend, he had a feeling that his friend already had gotten wind of this. Cesare was in hope that either Micheletto would come soon or he was ahead of the assassins that were plotting to kill their mother and his siblings. and him he supposed but again Cesare would not be an easy target.

He was all for suggesting an alternative to the ball but knew Cesare would never go for it. He was one of the important attendees. He huffed knowing there was no way he could get out of it and would have to survive an evening around people he didn't know and who possibly didn't even like them.

His gaze moved over to this sister and he wondered what was so interesting at the door.Until she gestured them over and he hopped out of his seat and followed Cesare over. Quietly he heard the plotting between the two men as well. He was really upset by the end of it too."Sorry bastards"He murmured. Backstabbers the lot of them. He was upset and if they had done anything to mother, he would...his eyes went to Cesare then and he scoffed.

"I'm going with you"He declared, jaw set. He was just as capable of protecting the family in his mind. Let Lucrezia go to a safe haven, she was a woman after all. He supposed that maybe this was why father and Juan had not come. Maybe they had known something was arise. by why fail to tell them? He didn't know the answer to that but what he did know, was he wanted in on the slaughter."Lucrezia can stay here safe and I'll help you slit the throats of those...those backstabbers."
